Surprise!!! Happy Birthday Heather!

So back on December 30th, 2009 I get an email from my brother in law, Jake - asking me and a friend of my sister's to come out to Colorado to surprise her for her 30th birthday! Super fun and exciting, right? Except.... her birthday wasn't until May, which meant I had to try to keep this a secret from her for nearly 5 months!!! Anyway, somehow all of us were able to keep things hush hush and we surprised her on April 29th. It was so much fun! Heather's friend Heather and I flew out to Denver, Jake picked us up from the airport and then we picked up Heather at her place. She knew Jake had something planned, but had no idea we were there! We went up to Glenwood Springs, CO for the night and had amazing massages the next morning. Thanks again Jake for thinking of the great surprise, and to both Heather and Jake for the hospitality! It was so much fun!

This is what we got to travel through on our way up the mountains. I was so excited to see Vail, however I didn't see it on the way up because it was snowing so hard. Crazy weather!!!

Ski slopes in the distance. I think this may have been Copper Mountain?

This was the view from our hotel room - the pool you see is a hot springs pool. It was huge and its really warm! It was snowing that morning and the pool was full of people!

The girls at Rock Bottom waiting to get seated for dinner. By the way... I highly recommend the Mac n Chicken there. Yes... I ordered Mac and Cheese at a brewery! It was so yummy though!!!

Whew... Catch up

For those of you that check our blog... SORRY!!! I haven't been great at keeping up with this over the winter, but now that we're able to be outside more I hope to add pictures more frequently. Lots to post, so hope you enjoy!

Bedtime stories with Noah

One of Noah's favorite stories is Lama Lama Mad at Mama, and he has most of the story memorized. I had to get video of him reading with me. Its so fun!

This is from one of the sick days Matt had to take with the kids. Lauren had a double ear infection, so wasn't sleeping great at night. This was taken a little after 8am. Poor baby!
I had my parents hide our eggs in their backyard because it was dark last night before I had time to do it! Mom did a good job hiding them. Hopefully we found all of them, or the birds might have a treat waiting for them! I was pretty excited about Lauren's Easter dress. I'll admit that one of the first thoughts I had when I found out I had a girl was dressing her up for Easter! I think it was more fun for me than her, but she sure looked cute!

The Easter Bunny!

The Easter Bunny made a stop at our house! He even left footprints throughout our living room out to the porch door ;) Noah got new fireman rainboots and Lauren got a stroller for her babies.

Happy Easter!!!

Yes - we're all still alive... its been WAY too long since I've been able to blog, but its been a long winter filled with lots of sickness! Thankfully Spring is here and the nebs and antibiotics are done so I feel like I have more time on my hands! The Knakmuhs clan is so happy to be out of the house enjoying the nice weather. The kids get worn out earlier from all the fresh air, but seem to sleep better too! You'll notice in the pictures that Lauren is growing up! Seems like she's doing something new every day. She's starting to say various words - dada, gama, papa, wow, uh-oh, hi, bye... notice all those words, but no mama??? I starting to think that she believes my name is uh-uh, because thats all she says to me! Oh well... some day I guess :) Noah has grown up over the winter as well. I'm going to post a video of him helping me read his bedtime story. He likes books that rhyme, because they're easier to remember!
